A dose of healthy eating is exactly what I need just now so I'd be well up for this!

I make chicken salads which I have every day for lunch, so no problems there.  My evening meals consist of whatever the wife makes me which can range from a pizza in the over, to a nice curry or a salmon dish or pasts bakes or suchlike.  My problem is lack of discipline/willpower and binge eating though.. I'll admit to having a bit of an addictive personality.

If there's a multibag of crisps in the house, I'll struggle to not eat them all, same with other types of snacks.  At weekends I tend to let my hair down with takeaways, undoing any good work I've done throughout the week!

Are you familiar with plant based diets or is this something you're looking into for the first time?

I've lost 8 lbs in the last fortnight. Cut back on carbs and no junk foods or alcohol. Today is my cheat day so I will mainly be lying on the couch eating rubbish!

Try a bag of mixed nuts from Lidls instead of crisps lower calories. I have them close by for after my dinner at night when I'm peckish. Almond Milk in your tea or coffee is another wee change to try. Tastes absolutely fine you wont even notice the difference.

We eat a lot of fat in our house and we cook a lot of things in butter. My wife started a keto diet this time last year which meant that she eats meat, fish, milk, eggs and veg but no bread, pasta, rice etc. She did this because she struggled with her weight after our 2nd child. She lost 4 stone by Christmas and 8 months on from that she is in the best shape of her life on that diet. Everything we eat is full fat.

Over the furlough period I lost 1 and a half stones by not drinking. The 1st 3 weeks I kicked the arse out of it drinking far too much. I woke up during the night with the most agonising pain in my foot. Turns out I've got gout which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Made me stop drinking as that is a trigger for it. Just got it under control by slightly changing my diet and taking 400mg of alopurinol a day. Still enjoy a few pints now and again but don't drink in the house anymore.

Yeah, I've heard the Keto diet is class, think Sargon of Akkad lost a lot of weight through it.

I didn’t know who that was so have just looked it up. I’m guessing you don’t mean the original one. The other one is a bit of a character!

Haha, definitely not the original!

I got into characters like Sargon and other political youtubers a few years ago.  Discovering them was like finding a whole new world.  Unfortunately many of them have had to move to other platforms due to cancel culture.

been veggie since the 1980s and turned vegan last year and I'm staying vegan it's a superb diet.

But I'm like you with crisps and it's not one Tesco vegan pizza it's 2 .

Thankfully I run most days . My saviour of not being overweight.
