Favourite English team

Who has a favourite English club?

I've never really felt the urge to have one.. until now.

Despite the 'blues brothers' Rangers/Chelsea/Linfield fanzine that used to be on the go, the connection never really captured my imagination.

I have to say that I'm becoming a bit of a Millwall man, they are an unmanufactured proper club, with authentic, old school fans.  I'm finding myself becoming more and more compelled to look up their scores and take an interest in their goings on.  One of my favourite posters is LionMo and this also helps.

I also have a soft spot for Birmingham City, due to my friend JTC.  They are a refuge of traditional, indigenous people in a city which has been so enriched and strengthened by diversity.  It's actually one of the strongest in the UK in this respect, to the extent that it's residents all feel as one, and there's hardly any crime.  A shining example to us all.

Who else has an English club?

Followed villa when I was younger but couldn’t care less about English football these days. I need to have an emotional interest in a game to really enjoy it or have put a bet on, I’m nae the sort to just watch any game just because it’s football.

Everton and Man Utd are the teams I find wanting to win when I watch them.

I recently managed both clubs in my game of Football Manager on the iPhone.

65 trophies in a 30 year career. 5 titles and 3 Champions Leagues in 10 seasons with Everton and the board asked me to name their new Stadium. I called it the Sharp Southall Stadium and the fans worshipped me.

But I made the move to Man Utd and it too me some time to conquer the club I had built!

But eventually I retired with 21 titles and 11 Champions Leagues.

Fantastic post mate. You are certainly choosing the correct English team to follow. Founded by Scots, wear dark blue as Scotland does, proper fans that look after their own, love GB and our history. A proper football club with good, honest fans that would not turn against one of their own. The wife and I get treated so well when we go to the games. 🦁🇬🇧

I went to Goodison once and really liked it. Also really enjoyed their team in the 80s with Graeme Sharp leading the line.

As for Utd, I very much admire Alex Ferguson and loved the class of 92 and all the swashbuckling fitba.

I have never seen a game at Goodison but have stood on the edge of the pitch and had a look around. A fantastic old school stadium  I went to do a tour but that day they weren't doing them so I wandered around the ground and in one corner it was open so I went in unchallenged.

I, Ferguson is the greatest manager ever and that tesm with Giggs, Beckham, Scholes etc were a joy to watch. I loved the way Cantona played. Before them Bryan Robson was some player, Captain marvel.

That's great to hear mate.  Are you based down there aye?

No mate still up in scotland. Will not leave when my folks are here as they are both in their 80s and need the support of myself and my wife.
Will end up living down in gods country when the time is right or if the unthinkable happened and we ended up independent. We would be out of this place in a flash. We could not live in a country with them nationalists after they won. **** me it is bad enough just now.

Get down to watch Millwall a few times a season. Usually twice to The Den and 3 away games. It is by far the most enjoyable thing that we do in life.🦁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧
