I have a team. They are my team.

I don’t tend to refer to them as “my team” verbally or in writing normally saying “the team”. At least in front of them.

They though refer to themselves as being in “Peter’s team”.

They are a brilliant team of very capable normal adults and I like them a lot.
They're not your team, you don't employ them, you don't own them and you're not responsible for them. They are fully grown adults and don't see themselves as being owned by you. You're just an employee and a number who the company could sack any time they like, the same as them.

Having a team doesn’t mean you own people. It just means you have a level or responsibility and accountability for them.

Alex Ferguson didn’t own the class of 92 but they were part of the team he built.

You seem to have some kind of hang up about this.

It really bothers him, pleasing 😁.
I post, the dafties always dive right in!
