A man who was pilloried for telling the truth.  He was a true intellectual and way ahead of his time.  He was also incredibly popular with the public.

Even back then we had manufactured media hysteria, mock outrage and deliberate clamping down on free speech to silence people.

He was MP for a part of Wolverhampton.Bailed out to Ulster.Iv had my reservations about him over the years HL .I think He was talking more about culture than just colour.Wolverhampton had a problem in the 70,s with race but to be fair its a place where people rub along well now.
The Jamacans in Heath Town who basically took over the place are moaning now about all the immigration from EE and beyond
Iv siehk mates from Wolves whos Dads/family arrived in the 50s with nothing and now own lovely houses and moved to what would be classed as nice areas.Some of them aint keen on the new immigrants.the ones i know are all Brexit to a man .you could put a matchstick between a siehk lads views and a white lads views these days.
i had the pleasure of been invited to a siehks wedding in Wolverhampton 2 year ago.a lovely girl who married a white lad.It was the girl who I know.Got to say it was something else.Free drink all night and our tables which had non drinkers were furnished with soft drinks all night.

For the record, I don't think Powell was against people of non-white race, but his speech was more of a general thing about uncontrolled mass immigration.  His allegorical prophecy has come true in many ways IMO.

Im enjoying it mate you know of my difficult circumstances so to be away with my eldest is fantastic.Not been offended by any jocks yet though a bloke with a Savile cap on lit a ciggie up in the queue to Nellos chippy in cummnock last night at tea time which in my opinion,even as a smoker myself is out of order. glad he was a fair bit away as i was with my daughter.ill have one in a minute myself then shower.My kid is zzzzzzzzz.Only real gripe so first world problems.
A fair few English up here working in shops from what iv seen.This part of Scotland tends to more of a mentality Im familiar with anyway so I havnt had to behave any differently to back home.Seems quite British to me pal.No rabids on my rader yet

Probably going into kirkcudbright tomorrow .Need to fuel up and like a donut i passed up the chance in Newton Stewart today.Iv been before .its a lovely town and one Im sure is generally Staunch.
