I hear you Mo. I’m not a fan of old houses, they just aren’t designed for modern living.
But I don’t rate any of the main house builders either in terms of what they offer.
The best thing anyone can do if they are not buying to let and building an actual home is to self build. You get more for your money and it’s worth more than it cost you to build it.
Ours was built in the 1800's. It costs an absolute fortune to heat and there is always something needing done.
I would love to self build but my funds do not stretch that far.
Love the view from you new place, looks ace.
The view from ours is amazing as well. It makes the expense worth while.

Self building is cheaper than buying a comparable house in most cases and self build mortgages are available at 90% LTV.
