Historic buildings do have a fair bit of upkeep

They look great inside with the high ceilings the old fireplaces just love them but when the roof goes wrong it usually involves scaffolding which adds to the cost .
Got a couple of quotes approx 5 years ago to get the roof replaced. Cheapest was 20k 🙈
You are quite correct about the scaffolding
