....on here have admitted they don’t have any answers to simple questions regarding how an iScotland would operate, I think it’s only right we move on and revisit the topic when they do.

Always open to hearing answers from them.
They can't answer the questions because they do not have them. They want us to take a giant leap into the unknown risking everything. Seems like a great idea to me 🤔

Their answer to the great leap in the dark is often to claim that things are terrible as they are, with so many living in poverty, inequality etc.

This completely ignores the concept of personal responsibility and that the 'poverty' (which often isn't that bad) is brought about by people making bad choices in life.

You also never hear specific solutions to how they'll solve these supposed problems.

Things are not great as they are for many people or at least not as good as they should be. The UK is in long slow decline and has failed to keep pace with the standard of living in other developed nations.

All people are looking for is the political independence to control their economy and other key social levels as this has demonstrably worked well for other countries.

On the culture question again I would mention the strengthened Scandinavian and Nordic cultures with the existence of independent sovereign states and I would point to the overall success of New Zealand which has become arguably the best place to live on Earth since becoming independent.

On culture also, the Church of Scotland is independent and has made a great contribution to Christian culture and religious life across these islands. So why not Scotland itself?

I'd argue that the C of S isn't independent and it being instrinsically linked to the state is it's downfall, especially in terms of social issues.

It's become a shadow of it's former self.  Biblical truth?  How dare you!  Left-wing, homosexual, middle aged woman who is good at making tray-bakes?  Fancy a minister job?!

That being said, you're right in saying it's made a great contribution overall.  We have John Knox and the C of S to thank for widespread literacy and education for those who couldn't afford it as well as a whole host of other things.
