I said Hardliner was dull but I also said I think we would find common ground. If we can avoid his questionable politics and opinions I think this could be a blossoming relationship here. Perhaps I was too hasty??

Probably the wrong time of year to plant seeds, but nevertheless they have been sown in the fertile, common ground that has been found.

Whether they grow and blossom depends on a number of factors.

Like all growing plants, they can come under attack by pests.  One such pest is the poisonous Coyne insect, which can be disruptive if not kept at bay.  This can be done by strong doses of ethicicity which usually scares the Coyne off.

Hardliner's type of politics usually helps plants grow gracefully.
