The British have put themselves at a disadvantage in the world due to their traditional laziness and arrogance when it comes to learning other languages.
It’s also not true that there is gaelic signage all over Scotland. It’s pretty proportionate use of spend to protect a minority language which is part of Scottish heritage. I have no issue with proportionate spend on other languages.
Language is good, it matters and it is worthy of proportionate investment.
It’s all to do with the reasons behind it and it has nothing to do with Scottish heritage any more than that COVID hospital in Glasgow is.
You seem to think there was no gaelic signage in Scotland before 2007.
It certainly wasn't plastered over every train station and police vehicle.
