A tap on the back of the hand or the erse never did me or my brother or sister any harm, and it happened once in a blue moon. We knew when it did happen that it was time to behave.
I’ve never hit my kids and they know how to behave. I was never hit either.

I know people who were and most of them struggle with it or struggle badly badly in life. If you allow a tap, then invariably it will lead to more for some children.

Hitting kids is evil. And it always was.
Pete, all I can do is laugh at this.😂

Battering a child until it's black and blue on a regular basis is evil. Tapping the back of their hand once in a blue moon when they refuse to behave is not. Try and see the difference, please.
Tapping a child on the back of the hand doesn’t make any sense. Of course it is not the same as injuring children but what is it supposed to do exactly?
