I was a member for some years and posted on it in good faith but it did me no favours. I was banned from it for no reason.

On the matter of screenshots, that is a legitimate act when dealing with bad faith actors, and one that is easily negated by not hiding the forum in the first place.

Mmmh.

My personal opinion is that the matter 4 weeks ago was dealt with wrongly and that one particular poster who also doxxed someone was never given a ticking off, never mind punished.  A board poll regarding automatic ban was also ignored in this regard.  Now, I know you admitted to errors on 2 counts (although I don't think you specifically named what they were) but it's hardly the same as saying to AJ 'I was wrong for X or Y reasons, sorry mate'.  This isn't something I hold against you, but it may be what has lead AJ to ban you?  I'm not sure as I can't speak for him.

I believe these are the events which lead to the subsequent creations of your nicknames of 'TUC' as well as 'Plasticine Pete'

Not really my battle but just giving my take on how I think events have panned out.

Personally, I'd love this board, the Righty board (including orange and masonic sub forums) and Faniels board to merge into one, with you, AJ and Faniel being the moderators.

I did say specifically, publicly what the errors were, more than once. And nobody knows this until now except for AJ, but I did also give him a personal apology in a personal message to which he has never responded.

I did not apologise for his ban, because that was a community decision. I apologised for the procedural errors made by me on the day and assured him they were not born of malice or any kind of ill will.

I don’t tend to see posters in black and white, we are all complex creatures. He did act in a creepy way and crossed a line, but what drove that I do not know.

I like AJ, but he DOES have a victim complex, does not strive to meet the standards he sets for others, and can be manipulative.

I just remember you saying you were wrong on two counts or something.  If I am shown to be wrong then I'll eat humble pie.  Anyway, I'm just saying my line of thinking was probably the reason for the ban rather than it just being for no reason.

Very true about us being complex creatures.

I can't really make moral judgements on the feud between AJ and Coyne, it sounds like it is very deep and goes back a long way with several incidents having taken place on different boards with resentment having been built up over time.  People will often react to such incidents in a faction-driven manner rather than being consistent, which will lead to more resentment and a willingness to get back at not just one person but their 'collaborators' too... this will also lead to actions previously regarded as OTT to be regarded as fair play in a specific situation.

Anyway, I suppose we all need to take a step back and breathe once in a while :)

You could actually write a book or make a documentary with all the drama on boards over the years  ;D
