The British have put themselves at a disadvantage in the world due to their traditional laziness and arrogance when it comes to learning other languages.
It’s also not true that there is gaelic signage all over Scotland. It’s pretty proportionate use of spend to protect a minority language which is part of Scottish heritage. I have no issue with proportionate spend on other languages.
Language is good, it matters and it is worthy of proportionate investment.

I agree that language is good but the money spent on gaelic signs, police vehicles, train stations, amblances etc. would definitely been better spent on other things. A complete and utter waste of our money

It’s all to do with the reasons behind it and it has nothing to do with Scottish heritage any more than that COVID hospital in Glasgow is.

You seem to think there was no gaelic signage in Scotland before 2007.

It’s not plastered over every train station or police car now either.
I would put it to you guys that you are triggered by Gaelic because YOU associate it with nationalism and independence.
In your torpor you fail to realise that all of the areas where Gaelic is more prevalent voted No to independence.
Weird.

The SNP have tried to nationalise it.
I’d prefer the money spent on other things that improve and benefit the lives of all Scots not just virtue signal to a minority.
