Calling people who favour independence racist and anti English is a very lazy observation.

Anyway, we don't want this board becoming like the other one where the whole feeling of it is one group against the other where it crosses over into many different subjects and becomes pointless talking about anything else apart from politics.

You might think it’s lazy but the majority of independence supporters are anti English, or racists in other words.
You might not like it, but the SNP the facts.

Nae bother mate. 🙄

Pretty sure it’s just daft Ralph.

I agree.

The Dab needs to wind his neck in
You guys seem a bit triggered by facts about an independent Scotland.
No need to get upset by the truth.

I think only swivel-eyed moonhowlers equate support for independence with anti-English racism. Not a point worth really taking seriously.

Mark Blyth has come out for independence today. He’s a leading political scientist and a professor of international political economy at Brown University. Hard to paint him as an anti-English racist. I wonder if GB tennis gold medalist and knight of the realm Sir Andy Murray bases his support for independence on racist hatred of English people.
FFS the tinfoil hat wearing separatists hate Sir Andy because he’s a Knight Of The Realm and he carried the Union Jack at the Olympic opener game ceremony😂😂😂

I adore Andy Murray and have never heard a word of criticism of him from any yes supporter.

Your ears must be painted on then.

Ps, adoring a grown man not connected to your family group is creepy.

Not too fussed either way. I actually believe you though. You seem almost too angry and in pain to be Ralph.

Is this true, that there's been a Highland property boom?

I think a lot of retired English people with a bit of cash enjoy the peace and tranquility of Highland Scotland and the Islands in their retirement.  I doubt very much that these people are fleeing to another part of the country to escape Boris, Brexit and COVID.  They probably also see fantastic opportunities to buy up holiday lets.

My gut feeling tells me that separation is far from being inevitable, although I could be wrong.  Corbyn being elected as Labour leader, the rise of Trump, woke culture having such an influence, BLM, the COVID pandemic and the ever changing dynamic such events create makes me believe that you just can't predict politics.

Nippy is enjoying high approval ratings just now due to her COVID briefings and this is leading to an increase in support for separation, but there's nothing to suggest that this will last forever.

Could the SNP tear itself apart internally?  It's funny watching the feminist 'TERFs' and wokerati attack each other with vicious namecalling that they usually reserve for right wingers.  We also have the battle between the Sturgeon and Salmond camps over the attempts to have him jailed.  What will his evidence expose?  Can't wait for his book!

Could other countries leave the EU?  It's going to be very hard to keep it together in the next decade or so.  People do not like the free movement of people, and rightly so.

Could Scotland even get back in the EU with it's debt?  Would Scots want to adopt the Euro?  Would it be allowed back in without adopting the Euro?  What about the border and single market of the UK?  There are so many variables and questions which aren't really being considered at the moment.  Many Scots are just displaying their displeasure with their emotions being the driver IMO.

The economy is about to take a real tanking once the real job losses become clear.  Would separation improve this?

As for England, I don't think I could ever move there unless it was to a quiet village.  It just seems so unbelievably busy, especially the roads, and there isn't much of a sense of community in many parts, this will partly be caused by it becoming atomised by multiculturalism IMO, which we are all told is our strength.
