Does anyone like a punt? I love it. Don't spend much at all but love having a few quid on the horses and football. Do it all online now as the odds are so much better than in the bookies. Just bought the Racing and football outlook which I do every Tuesday. Enjoy studying all the stats etc before I place my fooball bets. Find the pundits as in any paper are not very good.

I have never understood the appeal of gambling. The deck is stacked and the house always wins, so what’s the point?

I’m not anti it, people can do whatever they like with their money, it just doesn’t appeal to me. I very, very occasionally buy a lottery ticket. And I do the Sky Super 6 but that is free and gives you a chance of winning £250k.

I would ban all advertising of gambling though. Foxy Bingo, the works. And sports teams shouldn’t be sponsored by gambling firms.

I like a football coupon now and again and maybe a bet on the golf occasionally that's about it. Usually bet Jon Rahm but forgot all about it and wouldn't you know he wins in a play off. Just my luck. Think he was about 12/1.

I think the point is the excitment of winning. Love the adrenaline rush when you gave a couple of quid on a horse and its right up there at the end of the race. Also when you have a treble on the football, ths 1st two are in and the 3rd your team is winning by one goal with 20 mins left but are under pressure. Do you cash put or not. 🤔
Agree with you about advertising

When growing up it was always pointed out to me they had 4 windows for taking your money and one for paying out.

It definitely can be. The FOBTs are the crack **** of gambling. Horrible things. I don't see a problem if you spend a couple of quid on a horse as it can be great fun watching the race. Like everything in excess its bad
