Have you been following a vegan diet for a long time and what are the benefits?

By the sounds of it, you're a fit bloke with your running.  Does it give you more energy in general?

If cows, pigs and chickens didn’t taste so good I could go vegan.

Yeah mate it's a superb cruelty free diet .

I was veggie from 1987 then became vegan for about 2 years now.
I used to have a constant cough for about 10yrs from morning to night and for 40 mins in my bed before I could sleep it was so bad I'd go to bed early so I didn't stop my wife from sleeping.

The doctors tried all sorts of inhalers but nothing worked my daughter said who's vegan told me to stop taking dairy and there you have it .
Eggs and milk were the worst with an immediate cough

Will never go back .
Sue makes vegan food for us from scratch but I do buy processed vegan stuff from Tesco.
Where they do a wide range of bacon sausages Lorne sausage etc .
I raced 5ks at 60 and always ended up inside the top 10 not bad for my age group running 20 mins -22 mins far cry from my 15min 5ks .

It's a superb diet I'd advise people to go vegan 2 days a week just to see how you get on.

Giving up the dairy is a real mental block for me.  I might try it some day, but I'd have to gee myself up for weeks first!

I wasn't sure the driver was animal welfare or the benefits of the diet for you, but it seems it's both.

It's not so difficult nowadays there's so much more options.
Most of it you wouldn't know the difference. Like for example the cheap soya milk you get from all the supermarket's.

I've no idea mate  ::) >:(
But there's a decent mix in there even though processed food isn't that healthy it easily keeps me from going back to veggie.
Thanks for posting my fridge pic .
