How much is HS2 costing taxpayers in Scotland?

Scotland will receive 9% of the cost of the construction of HS2 in Barnett consequentials, supposedly.

However, Scotland will then be charged for 2% of its running and maintenance costs, every year, for ever.

And it has no choice over this. At all.

Scotland also contributed to the London Olympics, received a much reduced consequential and then London contributed nothing to the cost of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

I answered your question. Scotland isnt funding the construction but will be charged annually for it once it is built. And Scotland has no say in that whatsoever.

As yet, no consequentials have been paid, and those which do come, come with strings attached.
