I post frequently on the Anything Goes forum which has been getting much busier lately.

Dundee Mad very occasionally, but it's deadly quiet.

FollowFollow from time to time but the admin are too touchy.

I’m a bit of a big deal on TheOneRing.net, which is a Tolkien forum. People are often asking for my take on aspects of his work and to do deep dives into things like the true nature of Tom Bombadil and his wife Goldberry as well as the natures of the Maiar.

They love hearing about my dog responding to commands given in Quenya and Sindarin. Stuff like that.

Tom Bombadil was a weird guy. Hoped he would be in the films though

He was written as an enigma and Tolkien stated as much in his letters. He doesn’t fit into any of the classes of beings as such that we know of.

Not a Vala, not a Maia, nor one of the Quendi. Not a dwarf or a man obviously. And he is described as Oldest, older even than Treebeard.

But Tolks left some clues and after much study I concluded that Bombadil is the embodiment of the spirit of Arda, kindled to life spontaneously when Eru placed the Flame Imperishable at the heart of the World and gave his thought being.

I can give a solid theory on Goldberry too.
