Those of us fortunate enough to still be working....
« on: October 02, 2020, 09:31:30 am »
I really don’t like to complain but is anyone else finding it’s crazy just now?

There seems to be an expectation now of business as usual and more, and as the brown misers scramble to improve and secure their positions due to their insecurities, it’s getting wilder by the day with office politics now digitised.

Or is it just me?

Must admit, my company has been fantastic throughout this pandemic.

I had to go through consultation with all of my team the last few weeks, which seen four move to another part of the business and six have taken voluntary redundancy.

Office politics are through the roof within my department!  Maybe not having to see people face to face means people aren't as scared to bump their gums?

I find there are pros and cons to WFH, but the pros outweigh the cons.  I feel I get through more work at home too, although i seem to be busier than ever.

I’m enjoying wfh, saves me travelling to Aberdeen every day. Even once this is over I think I’ll only be there 2/3 days a week which is a bonus.

Of the 10 staff that have recently departed, I would have only wanted to keep two.

They're not your team. They work for the company, not you.

They're not. They don't belong to you, and they never will.

I have a team. They are my team.

I don’t tend to refer to them as “my team” verbally or in writing normally saying “the team”. At least in front of them.

They though refer to themselves as being in “Peter’s team”.

They are a brilliant team of very capable normal adults and I like them a lot.

Some folk with dead end jobs will never understand Pedro.

It’s jealousy, they maybe should have stuck in a bit more.

Hey ho, thems the breaks.
