Hand ma notice in at my work on Monday 🙁

Got a letter fae the dvla today saying they want me to do cardiac tests to get my hgv back but because of covid can’t book anything for the foreseeable future, was taken off furlough and put in ssp halfway through October so cannae last much longer on £95 a week. If I find a wee van job I’ll probably just chuck the hgv altogether.

That’s not good to hear, I take it they aren’t even giving you a rough estimate for tests.

What about DPD?

Nope nothing.

“We are unable to request this examination at present due to COVID-19”

I don’t fancy courier work if I can help it, they’re all pushing you down the self employed route, if needs must I’ll easy pick something up with one of them though.

One of my mates was looking into DPD, said something about a franchise for a couple of grand, have t spoke to him for a couple of weeks though

A lot of the time you’re working for less than minimum wage by the time you’ve paid for everything.

Yeah I wouldn’t have thought they would give you a van, pay your fuel/insurance etc and you still get money.

He’s on the taxis and not much happening there just now

That’s not so good mate. Would they maybe give you an office job when you tell them you can’t do HGV at the moment? I’ve seen that happen a few times.

Cheers, plenty of jobs out there, I’ll get something. I passed ma test before 97 so can still drive 7.5t vehicles so there’s always agency work.
