I'm not sure I agree with Laird.  The SNP membership won't want to rock the boat when they are riding so high in the polls.  She'll do whatever it takes to cling on to power, to matter how hypocritical or contradictory.

I agree with you about Salmond, Cherry and MacAskill being smarter than the Sturgeon camp, Pete.  They have more morals too.  I am of course speaking as an outsider looking in.

The Sturgeon camp's main asset is Sturgeon herself, who is great on camera and is good at both appealing to moderates and cultivating the base.  She seems to be surrounded by the wokist of the woke.  Wings Over Bath constantly implies they have links to establishment institutions and this wouldn't surprise me.
