Restrictions introduced to Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire

Anyone affected on here?  If so, what's your thoughts?

Everyone I talk to seems to have a strong opinion on everything to do with this virus.  Whether it be mask wearing, social distancing, what types of services are open and what ones aren't, how our politicians are all stupid and awful etc.. Sometimes I feel like the odd one out for not having strong opinions on any of this stuff?

Similar. I’m not bothered if I have to wear a mask or can’t go into other people’s houses. Here in Nationalists East Ayrshire the number of cases is really low and I live rurally which makes it even lower.

As long as:

My kids can go to school and nursery
I can work from home
More people aren’t dying

I’m really not bothered.

I'm not too fussed either with the masks etc.

I was raging when Aberdeen hospitality was closed down for 3 weeks, not because I'm out a lot but because of the many people who'd worked hard to get things going again for a minority of folk to spoil it and put folks jobs at risk.

Of course what happened in Aberdeen was happening all over Scotland but Aberdeen were punished because an **** that was infected decided to go on a pub crawl. That should've woken up all the other pubs in the country and hopefully the people who were going out so that it doesn't happen to their pub or their city/town.

Anyone that is outraged is a fanny.

Only be 2-3 weeks, be interesting to see how many of these fowk have actually went to any bars, cafes or restaurants in the previous 2-3 weeks.

Glasgow does have a problem with neds though, maybe should have just banned anyone wearing a tracksuit for life, or Bar L for two years

Yep, I moved to this SNP voting area almost 5 years ago. We are in the countryside, about 5 miles from Galston.

Have found the area to be pretty much neutral, even Kilmarnock. I go to Auchinleck and Cumnock a lot. There’s a lot of great things about EA. We spend a lot of time at Dumfries House for example. Whereabouts were you?

The ones we should really feel sorry for are the people who lost loved ones due to tested and untested patients being forced into care homes.

I lived in Stewarton for 9 months while I was building my house. Great wee town and very handy train station. Used to take my son to the coffee pot as a toddler for pancakes on a Saturday morning. It was a hovel but utterly charming. And then it got done up.

Stewarton I did find was a bit of a Bun hotspot. I put that down to its proximity to the likes of Kilwinning. North Ayrshire is really that last outpost of traditional Bunnite culture.

I remember the coffee pot well!  I used to work in the Co-Op just a few doors along from it.

It was always full of Prods when I grew up (although my best mate was actually a William Hague -tragically died of cancer a few years ago), with a slowly rising RC population as was the case everywhere for such a long time.

The Chapel has just shut down recently I heard, with the building having been bought over by the 'Brethren' denomination.

Aye, it was never once open when I lived there in 2015, and I used to drive up to Kilwinning for Mass. I don’t go anymore, actually gave it up around that time after attending for 35 years.

It was around the time of the Cardinal O’Brien scandal and instead of the priests showing a bit of humility at the time they were doubling down and telling us all on a Sunday morning how it was we who were lacking. It was quite an effort to get out on a Sunday morning with an 18 month old and I got really angry at these guys having the cheek to lecture me after I had made the effort.

I do believe in it on some level still but I lost interest in the organised religion aspect. They actually put me off which isn’t what they are supposed to be doing.

BMG, I don’t know if you or indeed anyone here ever played The Secret of Monkey Island but Stewarton always reminded me of the town on Melee Island.



And the characters on the left of the screen? They are called The Men of Low Moral Fibre. 😀
