I think there were just more Irish that went over to be honest.

As well as that, Scots moved to a place that was largely similar to their own culture anyway, whereas the Irish were more distinct.  Most aspects of their culture were different, like religion and even the colour green.

Irish went in far larger numbers due to famine and arrived poor, and had to stick together to survive and thrive.

Agree that they went in larger numbers and also later.

What about the Scottish Highlanders? They would've arrived earlier, also poor.

Would many of them swore allegiance to the crown in return for land or did they **** off to Canada?

Scotland, Wales and Ireland are going to be great friends and allies after the disintegration of the UK.

There will be a Celtic Council, akin to the Nordic Council, with whom we will also be great friends.
