« on: November 08, 2020, 07:36:15 pm »
Life .

Mine was back in July 20th 1969 .
Most people had black and white TVs millions all over the world saw Neil Armstrong jump off and make his leap for mankind

And of course Aberdeen winning the European cup winners cup 11th May 83 .
What about you fellow posters ? ::)

Add to this my children coming into our lives that was amazing experience.

Going to the UEFA cup final in 2008 was pretty special, even though we got beat.

The Twin Towers coming down will always live in my memory, I watched the news live as I was dogging school.

This wasn't in my lifetime but I'll mention it anyway.  On display in a hotel on Arran is a handwritten account of when it's electricity was initially installed and lights first turned on.  It was an exciting moment not just for the owners of the hotel (who were ancestors of mine) but the village and surrounding farms as a whole.  Nowhere else nearby had electricity.

Like you, my child coming into my life was an amazing experience, as was getting married in our traditional service.  Yes, I'm a soppy git :)

Yeah that's a good one gas street lighting becoming a thing of the past into a new era of electricity.

I'm sure when my mum and dad had a flat quite central a man used to go about lighting the gas street lights up at night .

Changed days my friend!

It's mental how far we've come, even with stuff like mobile phones and TVs.

The year 2011 changed my life totally.
2003 and 2015 were good years.
2014 was momentous.

Dogging was indeed the phrase of the time in Unionist East Ayrshire.

Aye we've come a long way from my childhood.

We used to play football night and day even at school break .
Now it's finger football with folk all over the world.

We used to go for a cuppa and freshly made daughnuts during the 60s and chat away .

Now people meet up for a coffee with very little interaction take photos of their cake and post it on Facebook and reply to the social media friends forgetting they have someone in real life next to them who is started of conversation.

Not sure quality of life has improved.

I have a great quality of life.
Sorry to hear you don’t....
Never mind, independence will solve it.
