Can you say something nice about your club's rivals?
« on: August 30, 2020, 09:00:26 pm »
I challenge everyone to say a good point about their team's most bitter rivals!

This may be hard for many, and it'll be interesting to see who everyone classes as their rivals.  Will the sheepies go for Rangers? :)

I have something that I admire the Celtic support for, but I'd like to see what others say first!

I admire Steven Thompson and Big Daft Mixu.

What a combined effort that ended up in a beautiful Monday at an absolutely bouncing Dens Park 👍
I post, the dafties always dive right in!

I see our main rivals in Scotland these days as Aberdeen. I admire and respect them as a club and one of my best lifelong friends is a Friend of Dolly.

I like how they aren’t generally happy with long ball hammer throwing football even when it worked. As I Celtic fan I can relate to that given we invented sexy fitba in the 60s. Prior to that it was all people running in a funny way in straight lines in black and white, right up to and including when England won the World Cup. After 1967 the game is unrecognisable.

Curious that the Brazil 1970 side came along in short order after 1967. Coincidence? I doubt that.

Love it that they have a **** stadium for football that their fans hate. Especially moving from a proper football stadium. Also the manager who most of their support has no time for 🙂

Do you mean Spurs, LionMo? Are they the main rivals to Millwall?

I think their new stadium is incredible. Much better than the awful Arsenal one.

West Ham mate. The rivalry is fierce even although we hardly ever play them. I agree about the new Spurs stadium, it is amazing. I've done a tour of the Arsenal one and it is absolute class throughout. The best of everything. Not been to a match there though and what I've heard the atmosphere is poor.

Ah , I see. West Ham’s stadium is truly awful. They would have been much better off staying at the Boleyn Ground.

It is not designed for football. The West Ham fans I know absolutely hate it.

There are hints of better fitba in the last 2 and a half games.

Previous to the last 3 years or so we were decent to watch but after the season we finished runners up in everything we went more direct.
About the same time Sam Cosgrove came into the team and although his goal record has been excellent the fitba style hasn't.

Back on topic, we've not got a main rival but we have plenty of good rivalrys with clubs. Mainly the OF, Hearts and Dundee Utd.
I also like to think that Aberdeen are high up on the list of most disliked by other clubs.

There is nothing to admire in either cellick or their fhans unless you're being equally sarcastic and ironic.

We didn’t stand by and tug our forelocks while our club was mismanaged into liquidation. There is that.

Being a Stone Roses fan, I have to admit that I like the 'I wanna be Edouard' song!

And yet in 1994 it still happened 👍
