I’m thinking Borris should Ban the speaking of Welsh for a year or so
All that spitting ain’t good for Covid safety is it?
Is Gaelic the same? I don’t suppose many speak it though do they ?

Hardly anyone speaks it JTC, although it is strong on the Western Isles.  Other places like Skye will speak it to an extent.

I'm all for it existing and flourishing, but the attempts of the SNP to market it as the language of Scotland are utterly disingenuous.  It has never been widely spoken in most of Scotland.  It is basically the language of the Gaels, who only make up a small part of Scotland.

You've now got them inventing new Gaelic place names in parts of Scotland with no historical connection to Gaelic, just so they can put it on a sign.

....just like Oirland.
I’m in favour too if it’s a language that has been around for many moons
I’m all for the Welsh speaking their language too
It’s the over egging of it’s prominence that gets me .
The good folk of south west Scotland didn’t seem too interested in speaking Gaelic I have to say. No signs either. Tbf when I was in some of the shops it was like been in England as a lot of the workers were from south of Gretna

Be interesting if wee nippy were to do one of her daily PPB in Gaelic.

Scotland will be keeping the UK going but that's just the norm anyway.

Good thing is it won’t apply in Scotland as we have our Tier system and we are already on a downward trend with the virus.

Interesting.
So alls great up there cos Herr Nippy has sorted it all out but She will still have Her begging bowl out to Borris  for some more dollar that she won’t pass on to the Scottish public ?
I have got that right haven’t I?
She most certainly does. Shameful behaviour

Me too JTC.  I'd actually hate it if such languages died out!  There were other languages in Scotland spoken too but they've disappeared over the years.

I've often thought about learning Gaelic since my family are from Arran and Skye where it was spoken in the past, but it just seems like too much effort  ;D

That's great that there were plenty English on your holiday.  In general, find the English to be less bitter and aggressive than Scots.
