My mother in law just sent me a video of Janey Godley doing a Sturgeon voiceover.

I try not to hate people, but really struggle with this with regards to my MIL.  Sadly, in the interests of not causing a rift between us which my wife is terrified of, I have replied with 'lol', which was wrong on many levels.

A very common dynamic. We hear a lot about toxic masculinity but little about toxic motherhood.

My wife goes on mumsnet and the amount of women who have difficulties with their mothers and mothers in law is unreal.
