General Discussion / Re: Does anyone have a Beer Machine?
« on: September 06, 2020, 12:01:43 am »
Yes, I have one, but not that.

I have the sub machine, fantastic bit of kit.

My only gripe is it only holds four pints, they did do bigger one's but they stopped for some reason.

Tip if you buy one, the sub takes HOURS to cool down beer when you first turn it on.

Put the sub keg in the fridge before hand, the straight into the already running machine.

General Discussion / Re: These nets have been up for months...
« on: August 31, 2020, 03:05:32 am »

But me and my kids are the only people I’ve ever known to use them. If we had a goal with nets back in the day we would have done nothing else.

When we were kids, we found an old discarded set of nets in our field, from one of the teams that played there.

Closer to our house had a row of big trees, about the right width for a set of goals.

We took a hammer and some nails, and put nails in the back of both trees and bent them to form hooks, we used to hook the nets on the tree every night and play for hours.

the goalmouth between the trees was really uneven, so we took spades out, dug it up, kept the turf and evened it out, then put the turf back down.

I even stole grass seeds from my dads shed and put them down.

We had a cracking little area to play footy, as soon as everyone found out we had nets, they wanted to join in.  ;D

Good times.

Over 72 pages, the word "Estimate" is used 166 times.

That's all you need to know about GERS.

General Discussion / Re: The Currency Question

I'm ok with them using the pound until we get ourselves properly set-up. The pound is as much ours as it is anyone elses.

Then gradually cross-over.

Hell, I wouldn't be against the Euro.

Can't see it myself, but if he has, he's off his head.

Was just reading that in 2010 whilst playing for Lech Poznan, Blackburn Rovers agreed a deal to sign him for £3-4m

Just before he was meant to fly out, his flight was cancelled due to the volcanic ash cloud.

He signed for Dortmund instead.

Sore one for Blackburn.

I really want Bayern to win. I hate PSG.

Id love to see Ryan Porteous plow right right threw him.

If they can keep him under control, i think he will score goals for them.

From Hibs-Mad it’s mostly just AJ and Billy. The rest here are all all SF.net alumni. We were in another SF.net splinter board but the guy who runs it is a madman was got pished or coked up and started banning loads of folk. He had a track record of threatening to kill people also.

So I just set this up quickly as a bolt-hole. 250 posts in the first day and a half is an ok start, and 13 of the finest have come over.

Did you not set-up a board before????

I went on a couple of times for a wee look. I may have posted I can't remember.

Aye, years ago. 2012 I think. It lasted about a year before Proboards binned it due to Tims complaining I wasn’t tough enough in banning buns. It was getting 1000 posts some days and 40k page views. I was too busy to start it again.

Like the old days at Hibs-Mad.

When me and Brian took over, it was me, him and Notorious posting.

At it's height it was mental, we were getting over 100k page views a week from about 1k a week at the start.

Everyday when i come in from work at midday, i'd be scared to go on, id have about 10 complaints, and 4 pages of new threads/posts.

We were turning about 10-15 pages a day. News articles were getting easy 5-10k hits.

Brian must have been getting paid a fortune.
