I can second the Apple Watch, they’ve released the se along with the watch 6 which is a bit more wallet friendly. The wife has had a Fitbit though and she liked it but found it a bit limited the more she got into running, she’s got some garmin one now, if it’s just a standard fitness watch/step counter you’re needing it’ll be fine Pete.
I’m going to surprise the good lady with a MacBook Air Silicon (gold coloured) as for years now we haven’t bought each other expensive presents and this has been a hell of a year for her particularly.
She is always using my old 2014 MacBook Air, so if she has her own we both win and I think it will last her maybe a decade going by mine, which is far inferior to the new one with the M1 chip.
The Apple Watch on top might be a bridge too far. She would be annoyed at the spend I think and too risky to get the style wrong.
So on balance and on the basis of the advice think I’ll go for this. Fitbit Charge 4. Hopefully a good Black Friday deal.

That m1 chip is causing quite a stir, I’ve seen reviewers on YouTube saying it’s performing better in benchmarks than core i9 MacBook Pro’s.
That Fitbit will do her fine Pete, they’re great fitness trackers as long as yer nae needing to link it to strava or the like.

Apple Watch does a lot more than a Fitbit.
If you have Apple products it’s a worthwhile addition.

I’m thinking to get my good lady one for part of her Christmas but I don’t really know what one is worth getting.
There seems to be all sorts of versions and if it’s not Apple I’m pretty uninformed these days and Apple Watches seem to me to be just pricey fitbits.
