As much as I hated them both I enjoyed watching Larsson and Laudrup, two outstanding players. I love listening to Craig Levein on sportsound these days, never thought much of him as a manager but I think he speaks very well and his dry sense of humour appeals to me.

Agree about Larsson and Laudrup. Better than outstanding I'd go one step further and say world class.

I have not admired any dab or whu player.
Henrik Larsson was a brilliant player. One of the best I have actually seen live. Tommy Burns is another I admired.
I used to respect Burns, but not now.

Okay, that certainly changes my opinion if him. I will take that one back.
Fergus McCann told Burns if he brought Cairney back to Celtic he would no longer be Celtic manager.
Good for Fergus. At least some tims have morals and standards

As much as I tried, I couldn't dislike John Hughes at Hibs. I also liked Charlie Nicholas because he was a fantastic footballer.

I love listening to player interviews, especially by Si Ferry.

I don't have much respect for the likes of Lennon, but always considered folk like Frank McAvennie and Peter Grant to be good characters with some decent banter.  I thought the same of Chic Charnley, although he didn't actually play for Celtic did he?

Grant and Charnley even looked like right tims, Grant especially.. as the phrase goes, he 'had it hingin' oot him!'

Players who unashamedly fit with the culture and traditions of either side of the old firm are what make the old firm rivalry special IMO.  I'd much rather have a Davie Cooper or Ian Ferguson than a jump-the-dyke Kenny Miller or Mo Johnson.  Steven Pressley makes me want to vomit.

Di Canio fits this mentality with Lazio as well and I love how he has never disavowed fascism!

Anyone else have a grudging respect for anyone from the 'other side'?  I've got a feeling I may be on my own with this and am prepared to be shot down in flames  ;D
