I can't actually speak for him, but I suspect that he has the same traditionalist mindset as myself, part of that being caring about and respecting the elderly. His posts regarding his mother and father back this up IMO.
I have the upmost respect for my elders.
I care deeply about what the snp did to our elders that were put to their deaths in care homes. It is a disgrace and sturgeon should hang her head in shame

This seems to be happening all over, that's Germany closing all pubs and restaurants apart from takeaways for 4 weeks from Monday

Growth of the virus spread has reduced from 40% to 4% since the pubs closed and people were asked to stay out of each other’s houses.
It needs to continue for now and we will see the virus reduce significantly which each passing week. Seems we have a grip of it this time with the numbers now declining.
Meanwhile many are not going to reopen and a lot of people will be out of work.
