I'd be interested to see the stats with regards to the differences between and Scotland and England in terms of race and crime. Black people have probably come to the two places in different ways and for different reasons, so it'd make sense if what you say is correct. Black people have come to Scotland in much smaller numbers, and we'll have more of the 'brightest and best' because of the jobs they've come over to do. Historically, it was different in England.
So in summary:
Certain types of people are more likely to commit crime and these are also the ones who won't earn as much money in life. These poorer earnings mean they are more likely to live in poorer areas, hence the statistics.

So why are poor white people not committing as many crimes as poor black people from the same areas?
Ultimately, because they choose not to.
However, race plays a huge factor in terms of having an urge to commit crime. Blacks are more likely to have these characteristics.
As well as this, they are far more likely to have their children brought up in fatherless homes, which won't help.

When I was in my teens walking about town with a group of mates, you'd be suspected more of certain crimes because your demographic would commit more of certain crimes.

Well, as I explained previously. We don’t know that black people commit more crimes. We do know that if you are black you are more likely to be suspected of a crime, more likely to be prosecuted, more likely to be convicted and more likely to receive a tough sentence.
Bit of a vicious circle there, if they commit more crime then it'd be natural for them to be suspected of more crime.
When I was in my teens walking about town with a group of mates, you'd be suspected more of certain crimes because your demographic would commit more of certain crimes.
Not once did I call a shopkeeper teenophobic for keeping an eye or us, nor did I loot, burn, destroy or injure because we were 'persecuted'. I can categorically say that those shopkeepers were not teenist for watching us.

No one's genetics makes them do anything IMO as we all have free will.
Races have differences in all sorts of ways though, which would make sense considering we all evolved in different parts of the world with different climates, environments, dangers and comforts. The physical differences are obvious, such as facial features, bone densities, even differences in muscle sizes.. and **** sizes (I do have a bit of 'black' in me in that regard)
Why wouldn't we also have different averages in temperament, IQ, levels of aggression, levels empathy or willingness to adhere to law among various other attributes?
It's no surprise that Jews and Chinese people do amazingly well no matter what country they go to, with the Chinese dominating fields such as maths and engineering especially.
Blacks don't commit more crime because of their genetics, they commit more crime because they have chosen to do so, although their genetics will on average probably give them more of an urge to do so. It's not an excuse for them though.
