There's a decent bit of history in Forfar which was once the hub of the Kingdom of the Picts. I keep meaning to get there and explore the sites.
Apparently there were a lot of witches there back in the day. Natalie Mcgarry apparently took inspiration from it when starting 'Women for Independence'
I was there on Tuesday, never got a Bridie as ran out of time.
To my shame, I've never actually had one!
Are they good? Is there a cafe there that does them you'd recommend?
Or maybe drive home with it
Camerons the fishmongers do the best bridies.
Sadlers have a cafe and their bridies are okay.
Thanks to you also, LionMo.
Do you live near Forfar?
Yes mate about 18 miles

McLarens or Saddlers you will get good ones, I’d just take it home and pop it in the oven.
Cheers Coynster.
It's a fair old drive home from Forfar, but could be worth it if part of a family day out.

Forfar is okay, it's where the old dear is from.
Get the best steak pies on the planet from Camerons the fish mongers

Video for anyone interested in the Battle of the Clans that I was referring to (nae **** probably! :) )
https://youtu.be/Z6BchxSHYzk
30 men fae each side?
Seen a bigger fight in a pub.
Very true, but still interesting.
I can relate to 'The Duke' at the 5:15 mark when he said he thinks about the battle as he walks around the North Inch. Might pop down tomorrow for a wee ponder.

Was your sense of humour bypass operation recent?

I got engaged at the Hermitage which I think is near Dunkeld.
Excellent spot mate! Down on one knee?
Lovely place for a walk is The Hermitage - the home of Ossians Hall
Yep, down on one knee. At the big waterfall bit.
Superb.

Does anyone live near any interesting sites of historical significance?
I'm fortunate to live quite close to Dunkeld Cathedral, site of the Battle of Dunkeld.
I'm also not too far from Perth, home of the North Inch park which is also the battlefield of the Battle of the Clans. An incredibly interesting fight with some legends/myths surrounding it.
