I had an Amiga A500+.

Mind the big selling point of it at the time was that it had 1MB of RAM. 😁
That’s what I had. The Cartoon Classics pack.

Brilliant!

I see Bart vs the Space Mutants on the box, I have that for the NES.  Bloody tough game lol.

There was a cheat for one of the levels, think it was the one that had all the shops. You got to a bit where there was cement and you sunk and died if you landed in it.
I was stuck at that bit for ages until I found the cheat.

That may actually be where I've never got past.. cant remember.

Please tell me the cheat if you remember, lol

I think when you got to the edge of the cement there's a small ledge to jump onto. I think you jumped up and down on it 3 times and it turned into a floating platform that carried you over the cement. Probably about 25 years since I last played it so not 100%.
Also if I remember right you could type cowabunga on the title screen at the start and you got unlimited lives.

Cheers.  You are a prince among men.

I'll remember this for next time I play it.

Nae bother.

Although might be different for the NES compared to the Amiga.

My favourite games of all time are:

Monkey Island 2 - LeChuck’s Revenge
The Secret of Monkey Island
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

They are all well over 30 years old now but I have them on Steam on my Mac and by boy’s laptop.

Over the lockdown these (especially Indiana Jones) and also Thimbleweed Park taught him to read. Or at least they seem to have helped him very much with the breakthrough.

To Super Mario!

I have the NES, SNES, N64 and DS and have got Mario games for them all.

There is no better gaming character anywhere.

The best there is
The best there was
The best there ever will be
I was always a Sega and Amiga man but I can appreciate Mario. Especially Mario Kart. The one thing I never understood was Zelda. What a pile of pish.

I very much agree regarding Zelda.  I bought it for the N64, but it was because of the gameplay reviews.  The actual character was terrible.

At some point between myself and my kids we've owned most Nintendo systems. I had the NES, SNES, N64, Game Boy growing up and they've had the Wii, WiiU, Switch, DS.

Not something I've bothered with for a good 15-20 years apart from maybe the odd game of bowling on the Wii when that 1st came out.

Your kids have been brought up in the right way then!

I forgot about the Game Boy, I used to have it too.

I'll always remember being in primary school when Mario 3 came out for the NES. Incredibly exciting times.

We can't be far apart in age, think I was about 7 or 8 when that was released.
