Surely Glasgow should have their hospitality closed down? 22 cases for every 100000.
Aberdeen had 14 for every 100000 when the government closed Aberdeen hospitality.
Aberdeen is not a ‘Yes’ city though.

I've never been religious but wherever the wife and I visit we always try to find a church to light 3 candles. One each for her folks and one for my sister.
Also can appreciate and enjoy the architecture of the buildings.

That’s because the source of the Aberdeen outbreak was hospitality. In Glasgow it seems to be transmission in homes, according to the tracing analysis.

Similar. I’m not bothered if I have to wear a mask or can’t go into other people’s houses. Here in Nationalists East Ayrshire the number of cases is really low and I live rurally which makes it even lower.

Yep, I moved to this SNP voting area almost 5 years ago. We are in the countryside, about 5 miles from Galston.
Have found the area to be pretty much neutral, even Kilmarnock. I go to Auchinleck and Cumnock a lot. There’s a lot of great things about EA. We spend a lot of time at Dumfries House for example. Whereabouts were you?
I grew up in Stewarton. I liked growing up there to be honest and it was so handy for both Killie and Glasgow by train or bus.
I lived in Stewarton for 9 months while I was building my house. Great wee town and very handy train station. Used to take my son to the coffee pot as a toddler for pancakes on a Saturday morning. It was a hovel but utterly charming. And then it got done up.
Stewarton I did find was a bit of a Bun hotspot. I put that down to its proximity to the likes of Kilwinning. North Ayrshire is really that last outpost of traditional Bunnite culture.
I remember the coffee pot well! I used to work in the Co-Op just a few doors along from it.
It was always full of Prods when I grew up (although my best mate was actually a William Hague -tragically died of cancer a few years ago), with a slowly rising RC population as was the case everywhere for such a long time.
The Chapel has just shut down recently I heard, with the building having been bought over by the 'Brethren' denomination.
Aye, it was never once open when I lived there in 2015, and I used to drive up to Kilwinning for Mass. I don’t go anymore, actually gave it up around that time after attending for 35 years.
It was around the time of the Cardinal O’Brien scandal and instead of the priests showing a bit of humility at the time they were doubling down and telling us all on a Sunday morning how it was we who were lacking. It was quite an effort to get out on a Sunday morning with an 18 month old and I got really angry at these guys having the cheek to lecture me after I had made the effort.
I do believe in it on some level still but I lost interest in the organised religion aspect. They actually put me off which isn’t what they are supposed to be doing.
That's a sad way for it to end for you mate. Is O'Brien now living abroad? Is there any chance of reform? I'm sure many must feel like you and there must be pressure on the heirarchy as a result?
I also have many reservations about organised religion and don't agree with everything my minister says. I think he speaks from the heart though, and I value the community and want to worship with like-minded people.
One of the elders does my head in too. Very intense and overbearing. He is also a huge Scottish Nationalist which doesn't help matters! 😉
O’Brien went into exile and then died a couple of years ago. It’s not the end for me I don’t think, my membership credentials are valid for life but there does need to be reform. So many priest are bitter and twisted ballbags who don’t understand real life for ordinary people. The only thing that will change that is to let them get married.
That celibacy thing has done incredible damage in so many ways.
As an outsider, this absolutely seems like it would be a good step.
Telling the leaders they can never marry a woman will attract a certain type of person, and that type of person is also going to be more likely to carry out the deeds that have lead to the scandals IMO.
I quite agree. The current restrictions mean that the priesthood will be filled with misfits and oddballs. As is clearly the case.

The ones we should really feel sorry for are the people who lost loved ones due to tested and untested patients being forced into care homes.

I was raging when Aberdeen hospitality was closed down for 3 weeks, not because I'm out a lot but because of the many people who'd worked hard to get things going again for a minority of folk to spoil it and put folks jobs at risk.
Of course what happened in Aberdeen was happening all over Scotland but Aberdeen were punished because an **** that was infected decided to go on a pub crawl. That should've woken up all the other pubs in the country and hopefully the people who were going out so that it doesn't happen to their pub or their city/town.
It must be awful if you've worked tirelessly to get your livelihood up and running, taking every measure possible etc, just to see fannies not caring a jot, breaking the rules in pubs and getting them all closed again, with no comeback for the perpetrators.

Only be 2-3 weeks, be interesting to see how many of these fowk have actually went to any bars, cafes or restaurants in the previous 2-3 weeks.
Glasgow does have a problem with neds though, maybe should have just banned anyone wearing a tracksuit for life, or Bar L for two years

Everyone I talk to seems to have a strong opinion on everything to do with this virus. Whether it be mask wearing, social distancing, what types of services are open and what ones aren't, how our politicians are all stupid and awful etc.. Sometimes I feel like the odd one out for not having strong opinions on any of this stuff?
