By the way, did I pick up right earlier on that you are 36? If so, do you wear chinos yet? That’s the age that I embraced the chino.

Mad to think you are 36 and I am 40. Think I was about 23 when my messageboard career began.

That's correct mate.  I'm sure I've got a pair in the wardrobe but haven't worn them for a couple of years.  I'll need to put them on at least once before I turn 37 just to be ethical.

I think I was posting on boards under various guises when I was about 16 - fecking 20 years ago!.  I remember when you could post on followfollow without having to register, you just typed in a name every time to let people know who it is lol.

I don’t have a nickname as such but we have fallen into the atrocious habit of calling each other Mum and Dad in front of the kids!

I'd survived over 5 years of marriage without a nickname.  We'd say 'babe' and the usual stuff, but no real nickname.

A few people I've known over the years have been given a nickname by their other half.  One of the lads was called 'Elmo' - never really got to the bottom of that one.

Anyway, how would you feel if your wife started calling you 'Makka Pakka' of CBeebies fame?  For those who aren't aware, Makka Pakka is a monster-like creature who runs about the 'night garden' using a bicycle as a zimmer frame and washing the faces of others with a sponge.

Asking for a friend, of course.
