Got my car back, the bodyshop did a good job.
Thats good. Get rid of the crappy MG3 as well

Aye that's away. Just to add, it was surprisingly poor with the fuel for a smaller engine.
I think we will be looking elsewhere when we change her car. You have put us right off the MG3

Onybudy buying a new car to help the UK economy?

My new Dacia Duster is on its way for a nice runaround but I'm still 4 or more months away for my other new one.

What are yous driving or thinking about getting?
You never answered Buc. You are getting a Dacia Duster but what is the other car you have on order ?

Hyundai i20. I've just paid it off after four years and it's been a great wee car. I'm going to enjoy not paying for it for a year or two and then get another Hyundai.

They are nice. Nicest looking car of its class. I also really like the Hyundai Tucson.

BMG those are in the class alongside Kia Sportage and Nissan Qashqai. All of those are good cars but I have never liked the looks of the Qashqai.
The Tucson is the very one I've been looking at.

I’m sure that’s the same car as the Kia one that’s up from the Sportage.

You are thinking of the Kia Sorrento. The Hyundai equivalent is the Santa Fe.

Knew it was something.
Hyundai owns Kia I think, or has a big share.
Stands to reason they’ll share a lot of things.

My car is in the body shop after a wee bump.

Got a piece of shite MG3 as a courtesy car, cheap n nasty, tinny plasticky wee car.
Didn't even realise that MGs were still on the go but apparently they are now made in China.
Is it really that bad ? Was going to be looking at one for my wife next year to replace her wee Kia. She really likes the Kia but they have shot up in price. We have a MG dealer 10 miles away and she likes the look of the MG3 but we have never been in one. Like the 7 year warranty and the price but if it is as bad as you say we might look elsewhere. Cheers for that.

It might be ok as a second car, cheap runaround and decent warranty as you say. I just hate it.
Your Kia will be of far higher quality though.
It would just be her car Spit. She travels 10 miles to work 4 times a week. A couple of trips to the north of England a year, thats about it. Would it be arite for that in your opinion ? And you got these pics please 👍🙂
Cheers, doesn't look too bad. Like the colour but not the white sripes. Is it well equiped ?

Just your standard kind of things leccy windows, Bluetooth etc, AC, has Apple carplay, touch screen, nothing major.
Thanks for the info Spit. .See what next year brings and maybe have a look and test drive. The wifes driving is not the best and she doesn't have a clue about cars so it might do her

Reading about the Ssangyong Korando in the old mans car mag and it got a good right up. A lot of car for the money with a 7 year warranty. Mabe worth a look mate

Don’t buy a Dacia unless you’re over 65, wear a cap, wear a mask in the car and take forever to get anywhere.
I sometimes wear a cap, am not over 65 and definitely don't wear a mask in the car 🤔

Many thanks for the information on the Dacia Duster.  Having done some googling today, it looks the beez neez and is the type of thing we'd be after.

Very jealous of you possibly getting a Jag, Peter.  I've always considered them to be the smartest cars about, although I must confess to having a limited knowledge!

Tbh I've limited knowledge of cars too
Glad you are looking at a Dacia Duster getting mine from Evans Halshaw they have the best prices for them best double check this . wouldn't go for the entry level doesn't come we a radio or roof bars without them the car looks too basic .

Cheers, it would be a lease deal or certainly a couple of years old and the F Type is actually pretty fairly priced and there will be deals in the new year. I was paying £340 a month for the Kia back in 2014 and I reckon can get my hands on a F-Type for not too much more than that after Christmas.

But like I say, I genuinely might just leave it because I don’t know how much I’ll even need a better car by then.

One day I would really love a Tesla X. But they are at least a grand a month. Prices will need to come down eventually though!

My wife and I share a wee Golf TDI.. it's in decent nick but the 5 year HP is now paid up and I'm thinking of getting something else in the new year.

We've got a young baby and may have another 1 or 2 in the next few years so will be looking for something substantially bigger.  We usually take the car to Northern Ireland and Arran on the boat at least a couple of times a year each and need plenty space for storage with the wean(s) and associated luggage.  We like camping trips too so will be hoping to squeeze in tents, stoves etc at times.  Given that I know nothing about cars, does anyone have any particular recommendations for something that will suit our needs?  I don't even know where to start lol and am highly wary of salesmen in Arnold Clark and similar places.

Thinking about doing a lease deal rather than HP deals that I've always done.  Are they the way forward?

Buc will be able to talk about the Dacia Duster. Some people look down on them because they are Romanian and hence cheap but I don’t think there is a better value car in the world. And it’s SUV size.

I’ve been really happy with my Kia Sportage. 4 wheel drive diesel model. £20k cost me £340 a month and you can throw anything at it. Its been good for us with a dog and 2 kids.

Before retirment I bought a Mercedes CLS cost me £48k had it 3 years 30000 in the clock sold it for £13000 .

I thought to myself at the time fk that that car cost me at a loss of £750 per month . But when in business it didn't matter used to buy a new one every year or 18 months .

But I've ruined that in 4 months time

I'm looking forward to my Dacia Duster to be fair picking it up in Edinburgh hopefully next week .

I have been planning to get a Jaguar F-Type in the new year but I am questioning whether I need it. My 8 year old Kia Sportage has seen better days but it doesn’t cost me anything and we also have my wife’s company car, which is a brand new Skoda Karoq.

Unless there’s a big incentive I think I’ll leave till I know how much driving I will actually need to do.
Jaguar F-type, sit on mower, you've done well for yourself bud 👍

Thanks but not so much. Been absolutely rooked since we built our house 4 and a half years ago. Virtually zero disposable income due to debt and childcare costs. And an nice big helping of stress. We knew it would be a very tight 5 years but we are getting there now. Will be debt free apart from mortgage by end of 2022 and some of the monthly costs are finally going away now.

No pain no gain I suppose.
Well done, doff my Millwall cap to you. Work hard you deserve everything you get. Stress is not good though. The better half and I worked really hard up until 2012 and have now taken a step back. We managed to pay off our mortgage which is a massive relief. My sister sadly passed away as did her dad in 2011 so that changed our outlook on life. We now both work 4 days, 30 odd hours a week. No kids as well which makes a massive difference. We don't have much money but both us are content with our lot. As long as we can get to see Millwall we are happy.

Find We Buy Any car very fair for buying your car off you .
The man in the office said to me they look for minor profits with the cars they buy in and sell them on for around £60 or a bit more in profit but it's the amount that they buy in that's where the profit is .

Taking my Dacia Logan there on Monday and more thàn likely leave it there.and run back home .
